How it all started…

We hear a lot of ambitious stories and ideas about starting a business. All too often, after a few mistakes or setbacks, the baby is thrown out with the bathwater. That is different at Solbio. Our dream even started in the bathroom, namely on the toilet!

Of course I would be happy to explain this to you…

A few years ago I was on holiday with my lovely wife Gerdje and our dog Icey. We decided to tour the beautiful countryside of Corsica. The fact that there were no toilets at the remote campsites where we pitched our tent at night was not a problem for us: we had our own chemical toilet on board.

Unfortunately the toilet on the way was full. What a bummer!

Wherever we drove, we came across signs that said we were not allowed to dump anything. There we went, from place to place with a full toilet! Eventually, even the powerful chemicals gave out. That resulted in a huge stinking sewer smell. And who wants to spoil such a pristine island?

It didn't take long for us to realise that a holiday would be much better if we had plenty of natural toilet fluid. We could empty the toilet anytime, anywhere. And instead of driving around with a smelly chemical toilet, we could enjoy all that Corsica has to offer.

That experience was the beginning of Solbio!

When we returned home, we decided to consult our good friend Piet Otttens. He developed a natural toilet fluid from plants and natural ingredients. We could then get rid of those foul odours without the need for chemicals. We could then travel all over the world, sail on open water for weeks or just head to the woods without worrying about where, when and how to empty our portable toilet. After all, the chemical toilet has become a natural toilet .

That dream has now become a reality. We can continue to travel as we always did. And thanks to this all-natural solution, you can too!
